The caster is able to speak with a corpse or skeleton in any language it knew in life but only while touching it. The corpse only has knowledge up to the moment of its death and nothing else including awareness of its surroundings after death. They can provide directions and even place names and specifics but it is limited to their knowledge during life. If the corpse or skeleton was an animal then the same rules for Commune With Beasts apply and cannot be used on fossils. This spell can be used on any accessible body part of the dead creature. The amount of MC required to communicate depends on the size of the corpse or skeleton.
